We reject Democratized Prime because lenders face heavy exposure to one originator and the platform keeps unilateral control. Democratized Prime is a retail-open lending marketplace on Provenance with a $10 minimum and no accreditation gate. Lenders deposit USD or crypto into pools that run in hourly cycles, and a Dutch-auction engine matches their funds with borrower demand. The flagship, highest-yield pool lends against HELOCs originated by Figure. Available reporting says that Figure itself originated an overwhelming share of the loans that back the pool. A lender who deposits into this marketplace is therefore taking credit risk on Figure’s own book through a single originator, not receiving exposure to a diverse set of third-party borrowers, despite the "marketplace" label. Figure Markets Holdings, Inc. also expressly keeps the unilateral right to "limit, suspend, or terminate access to any Decentralized Protocol Integration or Smart Contract Pool" at any time. That is a central kill switch above the on-chain system. A short-seller report alleges that Figure’s delinquency rates are materially higher than those of peer HELOC originators and that a small number of accounts could halt Provenance because its governance tokens are concentrated. Those figures remain unverified allegations, not confirmed facts. Even so, this review independently found that Figure does not disclose the underlying questions about its entities and controls.
